Pope taps US religious freedom advocate for Vatican communications team

Vatican City (CNA/EWTN News) — On Wednesday the Vatican released the names of 16 people appointed by Pope Francis to the Vatican's Secretariat for Communications, among whom is American religious freedom and prolife attorney Kim Daniels.

A graduate from Princeton University and the University of Chicago Law School, Daniels is an attorney whose practice is focused on religious freedom and prolife issues, and is also a lay consultant to the USCCB's Ad Hoc Committee on Religious Liberty.

WASHINGTON (RNS) — Evangelical Christians converged on the nation's capital for a prayer rally on one of the hottest days of the summer.

With the nation reeling from recent shootings and shocked by news of a terrorist attack in France and an attempted coup in Turkey, speakers at "Together 2016" cited the global events from the stage and spoke of the challenges facing Americans.
