Police Officer Pleads Guilty To Immigration Fraud — Never Planned To Marry Sister of Common-Law Wife
A veteran western Massachusetts police officer has pleaded guilty to immigration fraud for falsely claiming he intended to marry the sister of his common-law wife in order to help get her into the United States from Vietnam.
Nhac Duy Truong, 44, who retired Wednesday, February 20 from the Chicopee Police Department as part of a plea deal, submitted the fraudulent petitions for the woman in 2008 and 2009 and subsequently claimed he didn't even know the woman's sister, who is the mother of his two children, according to MassLive.com.
