Pawtucket Red Sox To Worcester? Rhode Island Governor Eschews Bidding War

The city of Pawtucket and the state of Rhode Island are backing a stadium project that includes revenue sharing with the city. But owners of the AAA minor league team aren't thrilled with the deal, and Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo, a Democrat, says she won't get in a bidding war with the city of Worcester, Massachusetts if Worcester officials make a sweeter offer to the team.

Lewiston, the second largest city of Maine, will continue to have a Republican mayor backed by Republican Governor Paul LePage. Shane Bouchard, a city councilor and landscaping company owner, will lead the depressed old mill town.
