Original Maine State Flag Making A Comeback

The original official flag of the state of Maine was simple and unique:  a buff background with a big green pine tree in the middle and a blue star at the top left. But the original 1901 flag was replaced in 1909 by a more complicated state-seal-on-navy-blue-background design common among state flags in America; a flag company that started making the old flag last year is getting a lot of orders, according to the Bangor Daily News.

A woman who says she has the winning ticket for a $559.7 million Powerball lottery drawing wants to stay anonymous when she claims the money, but the New Hampshire Lottery Commission notes that state law requires the names of winners to be made public; a judge will decide. Her lawyer says she signed the back of the ticket after the drawing on January 6, and only later learned that in New Hampshire if a lottery winner creates a trust and writes the name of the trust on the back of the ticket, the winner can remain anonymous, according to the Associated Press, as reported by ABC News.
