Three students who wrote a column in the student newspaper at the Vermont college also said the protest that prevented author and sociologist Charles Murray from speaking was "absolutely essential." They called Murray a white supremacist, citing the Southern Poverty Law Center, which they called "one of the most reputable civil rights organizations in the U.S.".
