Obama explains new OT rule for salaried workers

(CNSNews.com) – In his weekly address released Saturday, President Barack Obama explained a new federal regulation finalized this week by the Department of Labor that will required employers to pay overtime to salaried workers who make less than $47,500 per year.

The federal-regulation-mandated overtime will kick in once the salaried worker has worked more than 40 hours in a week.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders said he plans to support the opponent of Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz in her Florida primary contest Aug. 30 for her congressional seat.

Sanders, a Democratic presidential candidate who has been feuding with Wasserman Schultz and the DNC, told CNN he favors Tim Canova in Florida's 23rd congressional district. Canova is supporting Sanders.
