No Such Thing As ‘Wrongful Birth’ In Maine, Judge Rules

A woman who thought she was getting a contraceptive device that would last three years got pregnant, delivered a healthy boy, and sued the drug manufacturer for wrongful birth. But Maine has a law that prohibits damages for so-called wrongful birth unless someone has been permanently sterilized, and a federal judge as ruled that the state law is constitutional.
