No One At CPAC Wants A President Charlie Baker

The Conservative Political Action Conference wrapped up over the weekend in Orland and released its straw poll results on who the attendees want to be the Republican Party's 2024 presidential nominee.

Massachusetts Republican Governor Charlie Baker was one of many options on the list, but he got zero percent support. That's even lower than former Ohio Governor John Kasich, who endorsed President Joe Biden in 2020. Kasich got 0.1 percent in the poll, which a Vice reporter tweeted out.

Capobianco, a candidate running for state representative in the Democratic primary in the 19th Suffolk District special election next week to succeed former House Speaker Bob DeLeo (D-Winthrop), lost the endorsements of former U.S. Joseph P. Kennedy III (D-Newton), Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, and state Senator Paul Feeney (D-Foxborough) amid sexual misconduct and harassment allegations. The 32-year-old Winthrop School Committee member served as Feeney's chief of staff before running for this post.
