Nike Signs Colin Kaepernick To Shoe Deal — Even Though He’s Not Playing

Former National Football League quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who started the practice of kneeling during the national anthem in order to protest supposed police brutality against blacks, has signed a new shoe deal with Nike even though he isn't playing and has dim prospects for catching on with a team.

The consensus around the league that Kaepernick is good enough to serve as a backup quarterback on some NFL team but not good enough to justify the headaches that would come with signing him.
