New Hampshire Transgender State Champ Track Athlete Weighs In On Transgender Athlete Debate

Kearsarge Regional High girls' track athlete Maelle Jacques, a male who identifies as transgender, recently weighed in on the transgender athlete debate.

Jacques, who won the New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 2 state championship in the high jump this past winter, told The Concord Monitor that the athlete understands why people oppose males competing in girls' sports.

Massachusetts Senate President Not Ready To Ditch MCAS As Graduation Requirement

Massachusetts should have a standardized test graduation requirement, according to Massachusetts Senate President Karen Spilka (D-Ashland).

While Spilka said the graduation requirement doesn't have to be passing the MCAS, as the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System is known, she doesn't want to see it repealed unless the state can replace it with something better.
