New Hampshire Principal Holding Line On School Dance Ban — For Now

The principal of the public high school in Exeter, New Hampshire is holding firm on a ban on school dances despite an online petition seeking to bring them back.

James Tremblay, the principal of Exeter High School, banned school dances in December 2015 because "hundreds of kids" engaged in "dirty dancing" – which, as CBS News described it at the time, paraphrasing the then-principal, consisted of "grinding, or worse, which then becomes a mob mentality on the dance floor."

While the rest of Massachusetts observed Columbus Day on Monday, U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Cambridge), known for her claims of American Indian ancestry, celebrated Indigenous Peoples' Day.

Warren, who once took a DNA test that revealed that she may have as little as 1/1024th Native American ancestry, posted on the social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, to commemorate the occasion.
