U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-California) visited Taiwan as expected on Tuesday to the anger of the Chinese government.
"Our congressional delegation's visit to Taiwan honors America's unwavering commitment to supporting Taiwan's vibrant democracy," Pelosi said in a written statement released Tuesday, August 2, the day of her arrival.
