Move Election Day To Weekend, Says Rhode Island Senator

U.S. Senator Jack Reed (D-Rhode Island) says the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November is archaic, and that more people might vote if election day were during the first full weekend of November.

Feds: Rhode Island Governor’s Name Can’t Go On Road Project Signs

Federal transportation officials found that the branded RhodeWorks signs violate federal regulations, and since the federal government is providing most of the money for the projects, their word will stick. State officials say Governor Gina Raymond's name will be kept off new signs, something one resident has been crusading for, calling the existing ones "nothing more than subliminal campaign signs by Gina Raimondo."
