A majority of Massachusetts residents want to raise taxes on the state's wealthiest residents, according to a new poll.
Fifty-six percent of Bay Staters say they plan to vote Yes on the so-called Fair Share Amendment, according to a newly released poll from The Boston Globe. It would implement a 4 percent surtax on income earned exceeding $1 million per year, meaning that the money would first be subject to the 5 percent state income tax.
The Boston Marathon will have a third gender category next year.
In addition to having a men's division and a women's division in the 2023 race, there will be a category for runners who identify as nonbinary, according to the Boston Athletic Association's registration page.
