MBTA eliminates honor box payment system

On July 6, the MBTA eliminated the honor box payment system and space numbers for all their parking lots. PayByPhone is a technology that allows customers to pay using any smart phone or internet-connected device. PayByPhone is already in use by 75-percent of parking customers in "honor box lots" throughout the system. If customers choose not to sign up for PayByPhone, the MBTA will mail a monthly invoice to the address listed on the vehicle owner's registration.
