Mayor Pete Polling Second in New Hampshire

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg received good news in the form of a WBZ/Boston Globe/Suffolk University poll put out on Wednesday.

The former mayor of South Bend, Indiana registered his best performance yet in the poll, earning 19 percent support from likely Democratic voters in the 2020 New Hampshire presidential primary.
That puts him in second place behind Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who topped the poll with 25 percent support. The duo lead over both former Vice President Joe Biden (12 percent) and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, the only candidates with at least double digit percent support.

As WBZ reports, Buttigieg appears to be taking most of his support from voters who might otherwise support Biden since the former vice president dropped three points in recent polling since the beginning of the week.

Even though Sanders has the lead, the Granite State is still no guarantee for him.

Of the voters surveyed, 14 percent said they were still undecided and 43 percent said they could change their mind before the primary, which is set to take place on Tuesday, February 11.

Republican presidential candidate Joe Walsh (R-Illinois) was a no-show at one of his own campaign events on Thursday afternoon, leaving some in confusion.

Walsh, a former Republican congressman from Illinois, was scheduled to appear at the Common Man, a pub in Concord, New Hampshire, for a meet-and-greet for his Republican primary presidential campaign. However, when a reporter for New Boston Post and others attempted to attend the event, they were told no such event had been scheduled.
