The city of Fall River is planning to appeal a judge's order to turn over records showing why the city forced out a long-time employee and to pay legal fees to the newspaper that sued for the records.

The director of the city's Department of Community Maintenance resigned in June 2022 after the city hired a private investigator to follow him around and interview other employees, according to the Fall River Herald News.
