The Massachusetts Republican Party blasted President Joe Biden after he signed an executive order that he says will reduce the flow of migrants into the country.

As of Wednesday, June 5, migrants who cross into the United States from Mexico cannot receive asylum unless they do so at a port of entry, according to the executive action announced Tuesday, June 4. Biden's executive order gives him the power to stop migrants from coming into the country during high-volume periods like now, unless they qualify for an exception.

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey has a positive approval rating, according to a poll released by UMass Amherst this week.

Overall, 54 percent of Bay Staters approve of the current governor, while 32 percent disapprove, the poll said.
