Massachusetts Unemployment Remains Under 3 Percent

The Massachusetts unemployment rate saw a slight increase in November, reaching 2.9 percent, up from the revised October rate of 2.8 percent, according to State House News Service.
Despite this uptick, the state has maintained a jobless rate below 3 percent for the seventh consecutive month. In comparison, the national jobless rate for November stood at 3.7 percent.
Massachusetts experienced a positive trend in employment, with the state gaining 3,200 jobs last month. This follows a revised loss of 500 jobs in October.
The report said that since reaching its lowest point in April 2020, Massachusetts has added 724,600 jobs. Over the year ending in November 2023, an additional 66,100 jobs were gained.
