Massachusetts State Auditor Says She Is Closing In On Signatures Needed For Audit-The-Legislature Ballot Question

State Auditor Diana DiZoglio says she is within striking distance of the number of signatures she needs to bring a ballot question asking voters to give her explicit authority to audit the Massachusetts Legislature.

DiZoglio told State House News Service on Monday, November 6 that she has about 50,000 signatures. She needs at least 74,574 signatures from registered voters by Wednesday, November 22 to reach the second of several requirements needed to bring the measure to the state general election ballot in November 2024.

Cape Cod Town Scrutinizing Seasonal Property Owners Registering To Vote

Town officials in Truro are scrutinizing recent voter registrations of property owners in the Cape Cod town who also live elsewhere, holding hearings to determine if the registrations are valid.

A group called the Truro Part-time Resident Taxpayers Association has encouraged people who own summer homes in the town to register to vote in Truro in order to vote against certain measures at a special Town Meeting currently scheduled for Thursday, November 16.
