Massachusetts Public Health Officials Urge Caution To Prevent Mosquito Bites This Summer

With summer approaching, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health is warning people to try to stay safe against mosquito bites.

Mosquitos in Massachusetts sometimes carry deadly viruses like Eastern equine encephalitis and West Nile virus. Though cases typically start appearing later in the summer, the state's public health agency is urging people to take the following precautions to prepare for mosquitos, according to a press release from the department:

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts has announced increased coverage for gender transitioning.

The company says it is "one of the first health plans in the country" that has "an integrated, clinical team dedicated to gender-affirming care," a term used to describe gender transitioning, "to help members find the care and services that meet their needs during reproductive health and gender-affirming care milestones," according to a press release dated Wednesday, June 5.
