Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Hosting Event Supporting Transgender Sports Participation

The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association is hosting an event for principals, athletic directors, coaches, and guidance counselors to support transgender athletic participation titled "Supporting Transgender Youth in Sports."

It is one of two in-person workshops scheduled to take place in Franklin, Massachusetts from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m Tuesday, October 24. The MIAA is hosting this workshop session in conjunction with the Massachusetts School Administrators' Association.

Massachusetts state officials are allowing pharmacists to dispense contraceptive pills and contraceptive patches without a doctor's prescription, effective immediately.

The devices, which are designed to keep a woman from getting pregnant after sexual intercourse, were described as "necessary reproductive health care" by the state's public health commissioner, Dr. Robbie Goldstein, during a meeting of the Massachusetts Public Health Council on Wednesday, October 11, according to State House News Service.
