A sweeping gun-ban bill will pass on the floor of the Massachusetts House of Representatives despite opposition from police chiefs and gun-rights supporters, the House speaker said Tuesday.
The House Ways and Means Committee voted to advance the bill Tuesday, October 17 by a vote of 21-8, with one abstention, according to State House News Service. All eight Republicans on the committee voted against the bill.
