Pro sports took one step closer to returning in Massachusetts on Friday.
Governor Charlie Baker announced that the state will allow pro sports teams in the state to resume practicing at their respective facilities on Saturday, June 6. However, he noted that it must be in accordance with the rules in place for each pro sports league.
The state of Connecticut's policy allowing male-to-female transgender athletes to compete in girls' high school sports is a civil rights violation, the U.S. Department of Education has ruled.
The Associated Press reports that the federal education department determined that Connecticut's policy violates Title IX, which protects women's ability to receive equal opportunity in education, including athletics.
