Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance Joins Signature Gathering Campaign For Audit-The-Legislature Ballot Question

The Massachusetts Fiscal Alliance is planning to help the state auditor gather signatures to try to put a measure on the 2024 state ballot that would give her explicit authority to audit the state legislature.

State Auditor Diane DiZoglio has attempted to audit the Massachusetts Legislature, but the leaders of the state House of Representatives and state Senate have rejected her efforts, saying she lacks authority under the state constitution to do so. Earlier this month, DiZoglio told an audience she'll need help to get the 74,574 signatures of registered voters needed by Wednesday, December 6 to make the first signature-gathering deadline.
