Early voting in the Massachusetts statewide primary begins this weekend.
Early voting starts on Saturday, August 24, and is scheduled to continue daily until Friday, August 30. The state will have no in-person voting on Saturday, August 31 through Monday, September 2.
A Haitian illegal immigrant accused of raping a pregnant woman has been detained by federal immigration authorities.
Marc Kervens Beauvais, 34, was arrested on Tuesday, August 13. He has been charged with "aggravated rape, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a pregnant victim, and attempt to commit a crime," according to a press release from Enforcement and Removal Operations Boston, a division of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
