A 56-year-old woman from South Hadley in western Massachusetts on Sunday became the first person known to have swum the entire length of the Connecticut River.
Kari Kastango swam the 410-mile-long river in 83 portions between Memorial Day and Labor Day over the course of four years, starting in 2019 in northern New Hampshire and ending at Great Island in Old Lyme, Connecticut on Sunday, October 15, according to The Day of New London, Connecticut.
