A bill that would prohibit towns and cities in New Hampshire from enforcing policies that discourage cooperating with federal immigration authorities has cleared a key legislative committee in the state House of Representatives.
New Hampshire House Bill 266, called the Anti-Sanctuary Act, would prohibit municipal governments from prohibiting law enforcement officers from "inquiring about a person's immigration status, sending or requesting information from federal agencies, or exchanging information with other federal, state, or local governmental units."
