Marty Walsh Doesn’t Endorse In Boston Mayoral Race

Former Boston mayor and current U.S. Labor Secretary Marty Walsh won't endorse a candidate in the Boston mayoral race.

The Hatch Act prevents him from doing so; it prohibits most civil service employees who work in the executive branch of government from participating in political activity. Walsh therefore didn't make an endorsement when asked by Boston Business Journal this week.

Boston Bruins Affiliate Signs Marshfield Native Pat Shea

The Maine Mariners, a minor league affiliate of the Boston Bruins, signed a native of Marshfield, Massachusetts this week.

The Mariners announced the signing of forward Pat Shea on Monday, November 1, according to The Puck Authority. The 24-year-old Marshfield native played college hockey at the University of Maine. He was a seventh round draft pick by the Florida Panthers in 2015, but didn't play in the organization.
