The Maine Senate voted to ban flavored tobacco this week.
The state Senate voted 18-16 in favor of the bill (LD 1215), largely along party lines on Wednesday, June 21. Most Democrats supported the proposal, while every Republican rejected it.
Former Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate Jay Gonzalez, currently a partner at Hinckley Allen law firm, will take over as Curry's president on July 31.
