The rankings are in, and Maine tops the list. According to a study conducted by WalletHub, Maine is the safest state in the United States.

Each of the New England states is in the top 10 in the rankings. Vermont came in second behind Maine. Then, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island round out the top 10; they were ranked seventh, eighth, ninth, and 10th respectively.

Vice President Mike Pence shook up his staff last week, and the moves included making one Sandwich High graduate his press secretary.

As The Cape Cod Times reports, Devin O'Malley, who graduated from Sandwich High School in 2004, is Pence's new press secretary.
