Maine Governor Sending National Guard Helicopter To Mexico Border

Maine Governor Paul LePage is bucking the trend in New England by sending a National Guard helicopter and two pilots to help defend the American border with Mexico.

LePage, a Republican and a supporter of President Donald Trump, is the only one of the four Republican governors in New England to lend support to border enforcement in the wake of the separation of children from parents trying to get into the United States illegally, according to the Bangor Daily News.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh campaigned in Hudson for his former chief of staff Don Koh, who is running for the open Merrimack Valley congressional seat.

As Lowell Sun columnist Peter Lucas points out, that's the sort of thing that Walsh's predecessors never did and never would have done. Hudson is 41 miles from Boston, and the Third Congressional District is entirely outside of Boston (and not that close to it — Concord is the nearest point).
