LGBTQ Youths and Young Adults Qualify for Special Coronavirus-Related State Grants in Massachusetts

A state agency is offering grants totaling at least $10,000 for homosexual, bisexual, and transgender people 25 and younger affected by the coronavirus shutdowns who live in Massachusetts permanently or temporarily.

The Massachusetts Commission on LGBTQ Youth announced the grants in a document posted to the state's web site.

Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker spoke at a nearly empty Jewish synagogue in Newton for a Sabbath service Friday night that was livestreamed.

Because of the spread of coronavirus the governor has limited most public gatherings to 25 people, which has effectively shut off religious services to most congregants of churches and synagogues in the state.
