King Philip Forfeits Six Girls Softball Wins Because Coaches Used Walkie-Talkie To Communicate With Catcher On Field

The girls softball team at King Philip Regional High School has forfeited six wins from the spring 2024 season for using without prior approval an electronic communication device between coaches and players.
The National Federation of State High School Associations has not approved the walkie-talkie device coaches used to call what kind of pitch they wanted the pitcher to throw by speaking directly to the catcher's helmet, the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association said in a press release, according to The Sun Chronicle of Attleboro.
