SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (AP) — The husband and wife who carried out the San Bernardino massacre had been radicalized and had frequented local shooting ranges to practice, including once within days of the attack that killed 14 people, the FBI said Monday.

Farook, a 28-year-old American of Pakistani descent, and Malik, a 29-year-old Pakistani immigrant, died in a shootout with police within hours after the bloodbath.

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Venezuela's opposition rejoiced Monday after its shock triumph in legislative elections and waited anxiously for the final tally to see whether it secured a two-thirds supermajority that could dramatically wrest power from President Nicolas Maduro after 17 years of socialist rule.

The Democratic Unity opposition alliance declared Monday that it won the minimum number of seats needed to initiate a process to remove Maduro. But despite the efficiency and transparency promised by the country's electronic voting system, the National Electoral Council has yet to announce the results of 22 undecided races, almost a full day after polls closed.
