Katherine Clark Calls GOP U.S. House Speaker Nominee Jim Jordan ‘An Insurrectionist Against Our Democracy’

U.S. Representative Katherine Clark (D-Revere) criticized Jim Jordan, the latest GOP nominee for speaker of the U.S House of Representatives, for his conservative positions and style during a press conference.

"He has voted to ban abortion nationwide with no exceptions for rape or incest. He has voted to shut down the government and force our troops to work without pay. He has voted to gut Social Security and Medicare. He was directly involved in the right-wing coup that sought to overturn the 2020 election," Clark said during a press conference Friday, October 13, according to a press release.

State Auditor Diana DiZoglio says she has 400 volunteers gathering signatures of registered voters to try to get a measure on the ballot that would explicitly authorize her office to audit the Massachusetts Legislature.

Even so, she told an audience earlier this month that she'll need paid signature gatherers to get the 74,574 signatures of registered voters needed by Wednesday, December 6 to make the first signature-gathering deadline.
