The suspended payroll chief of the Massachusetts State Police applied for state pension benefits four days before an application for a criminal complaint for larceny was filed against her.

Denise Ezekiel, 49, of Holbrook, was suspended November 1, 2017, the same day a State Police major was assigned to investigate her. State Police say she filed for 29 fraudulent reimbursements totaling almost $24,000 over 15 months.
