John Henry To Boston Globe Union:  Take Deal Or Else

John Henry is playing hardball with The Boston Globe's major union, offering a small wage increase and 401(k) retirement fund match if the union will give up seniority, grievances, overtime pay, and step increases in salary, union members say.

Henry at least theoretically took the 2 percent wage increase off the table once the union didn't meet two deadlines to accept the new contract, according to union members.
