John Adams’s Hometown Braintree To Mark Treaty of Paris Anniversary Ending Revolutionary War
John Adams helped negotiate the treaty that ended the Revolutionary War. He was born in what is now Quincy but at the time was part of the town of Braintree, and he served as Braintree selectman before going on to more prominent roles; the town plans to have actors dramatize a treaty-related discussion and a string ensemble from the town's high school on Saturday, September 30.
