U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-New Hampshire) has a comfortable lead over her opponent in the upcoming November election, if you believe the polls.
A recent UMass Lowell poll showed that Shaheen has a commanding 56 percent to 37 percent advantage over Republican Corky Messner, in part due to some support for Shaheen from local Republicans.
Some mail-in ballots were rejected in the Massachusetts primary.
Just how many? That figure is 17,872, the Secretary of the Commonwealth's office told CBS Boston. That means 1.72 percent of the ballots for those who voted by mail did not count.
