Flags are flying at half-staff in Massachusetts in honor of Paul Tracey, a long-time Waltham police officer killed Wednesday while on duty as a roadside work site.

A speeding Ford pickup truck driven by a New Hampshire man with a history of mental illness and attacks on police struck and killed Tracey, 58, and a National Grid gas operations technician, Roderick Jackson, 36, on Tottem Pond Road in Waltham during the late afternoon of Wednesday, December 6.
