Harvard Students Shut Down University Hall

CAMBRIDGE – Members of Divest Harvard staged a sit-in yesterday outside of a key administrative building on Harvard's campus, effectively shutting down the building and preventing several top administrators from entering their offices for the day.

The protest lasted until the end of the business day, when a crowd of approximately twenty students, along with some faculty and alumni, gathered outside the building for a closing rally.

The Brockton state representative who found herself at the heart of a firestorm of criticism after she circulated a rumor on social media alleging that federal immigration had planned a series of citywide raids has doubled-down on her decision, telling reporters she still believes she did the right thing.

"Passing information along that is already all over the community not only lets the people I represent know what is happening, it lets ICE know that everyone in Brockton is aware of their intended raid," Michelle DuBois, a Democrat, said, reading from a prepared statement.
