Graffiti Busters erase scrawl to discourage wider disorder

BOSTON – If something strange pops up in your neighborhood, who you gonna call?

In the Hub, thanks to an initiative from the late former Mayor Thomas M. Menino, you can call the "Graffiti Busters," a group of city workers and volunteers who scrub graffiti from brick, concrete or stone all around the city.

BOSTON – Mayor Marty Walsh stepped into City Hall's front "yard" Wednesday to welcome the Big Apple Circus back to town as workers prepared to raise the big top that will house performances from March 24 through May 8.

The 63-foot high tent, which is 440 feet around at its base, can accommodate an audience of up to 1,700 and was set up by a crew of 35. But Walsh gave them a hand, pushing a button to raise the canvas, along with Michael Leclair, the tent master.
