Glorious Shrine Closed Forever May Get Second Chance
Fall River Catholics hoping to save one of the prettiest churches in New England are in talks with the local bishop to try to take over St. Anne's Shrine.
The spectacular double-spired granite church – "Visitors to the church are often stunned by its grandeur," says the Fall River Herald News – closed permanently on November 25, 2018 because it needs $13.5 million in repairs that the Diocese of Fall River doesn't have and priests the diocese can't spare.
