Maine Republican U.S. Senator Susan Collins got a former president's endorsement recently. George W. Bush said he backs her re-election bid.
"She's honest. She's forthright. She brings dignity into a world that has gotten really ugly. The political world is uglier than I can ever remember it," he told The Associated Press on Friday, August 21 in Kennebunkport, Maine, where the Bush family has a compound.
President Donald Trump expects to campaign in the Granite State later this week.
The president is supposed to deliver a speech in Manchester, New Hampshire on Friday, August 28 at PeriCohas Hanger, located at the Manchester airport. Trump is scheduled to speak at 6 p.m., although doors will open at 3 p.m., according to WMUR-TV Channel 9.
