Gas Still Exceeding $5 Per Gallon In Nantucket

The average price for a gallon of gasoline is down in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Yet in one county, the price still exceeds $5 per gallon. In Nantucket County, the price remains well above the state average ($3.812 per gallon, according to AAA). On the island, the average price for a gallon of gas is $5.246 — more than $1.40 higher than the average in the rest of the state, according to AAA.

Geoff Diehl Leads Maura Healey With Unenrolleds But Trails Overall, Poll Shows

In the race for governor, former state representative Geoff Diehl (R-Whitman) has an edge over Democratic attorney general Maura Healey — among unenrolled voters.

While Healey leads Diehl by 18 points overall in a recently-released Emerson College poll — 52 percent to 34 percent — Diehl is actually doing better than Healey when it comes to unenrolled voters. With those voters, Diehl has the edge 45 percent to 39 percent. Unenrolled voters — who are registered to vote but not formally aligned with a political party — make up 58 percent of the Massachusetts electorate, according to Emerson College.
