Four Dozen Sea Turtles Beach, Freeze To Death on Cape

About 50 sea turtles froze to death on beaches on the Outer Cape because of the unseasonably cold weather, researchers said.

The turtles washed up Thursday in the Cape Cod towns of Brewster, Orleans, and Eastham.

A family's pet peacock ran off with wild turkeys about six weeks ago and the owner says she can't get near enough to recapture the bird.

The owner has seen the peacock, who she theorizes was lonely and therefore took off for turkey companionship, according to the Associated Press, as published by the Bangor Daily News.
