Former Owner of Tampa Tribune Puts Second Bid on The Boston Herald

The Boston Herald is subject to a court-approved sale after declaring bankruptcy, so a judge will ultimately decide which bidder gets the struggling tabloid newspaper. Gatehouse Media put in a $5 million bid that is mostly cash ($4.5 million), but Revolution Media Group, which used to own The Tampa Tribune, has bid $5.75 million, with only $3 million cash.

Iceland Now First To Require Equal Pay for Men and Women

Iceland is now the first country in the world to mandate that women and men be paid equally.

A new law took effect January 1 requiring that businesses and government agencies with at least 25 employees get government certification of their equal-pay policies, according to Al Jazeera.
