Former Harvard Professor Sentenced, Fined Thousands For Lying About His Relationship With Chinese University

Former Harvard professor Charles Lieber was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Boston to time served for lying about his research ties to China and fined more than $83,000 for not paying taxes on money he made from a Chinese university.
Prosecutors say Lieber lied about his involvement with China's Thousand Talents Plan, an enterprise of the Chinese government that recruits scientists and other experts from outside China, according to the Associated Press. Lieber specifically worked with the Wuhan University of Technology.
