Fitchburg Newspaper Closing Office, But Not Newspaper

The Fitchburg Sentinel & Enterprise, which traces its roots back to 1838, plans to close its office in Fitchburg and let reporters work from home. But it's far from closing the newspaper, a company official said — the paper just hired a new reporter and videographer.

Jay Gonzalez, a Democratic candidate for governor, called on Stan Rosenberg to resign from the Massachusetts Senate after The Boston Globe reported that Rosenberg's now-estranged civil-law husband, Bryon Hefner, had access to Rosenberg's email, despite Rosenberg's assurances that he would erect a "firewall" between Hefner and state Senate business. Rosenberg, a Democrat from Amherst, served as president of the Senate until stepping down temporarily while an investigation attempts to determine whether Hefner used Rosenberg's status to sexually harass male lobbyists and others with business on Beacon Hill
